can we talk about Disney’s trend of making stances on powerful topics through animation and lovable characters that is simple enough for children to understand. big hero six talked about how to learn to cope with losing someone. zootopia talked about racial injustice, prejudice, and discrimination. and now finding dory talks about mental illnesses. say what you will about Disney, but they are slowly making a difference in the way children are going to view the world. children are going to view this world with tolerance and acceptance towards one another because it was imprinted on them through Disney movies. that’s amazing.
This artist edited Moana into Katara and it’s kind of amazing???? Suddenly I’m thinking about some alternate version of Avatar, as a work of CG instead of 2D animation. And now I want to see even more characters rendered into CGI via photo manipulation. I can’t escape.
